Recent Fundraising and Events

School equipment is so much more expensive to buy than you can imagine!  Equipment must come from Certified School Suppliers, for which the School must pay a premium.  Therefore, our additional fundraising is vital for our school.

All money raised by the PTA is invested back into the school. We liaise with staff and children to decide how funds should be spent. We love to think of new ideas to raise money for our school community – if you have any please get in touch!

July 2020 – Langley Moor Primary School Summer Bash Online: The annual summer fayre was due to take place on Saturday June 27th, sadly, due to the COVID-19 pandemic this could not happen. Rather than miss out on the whole event the PTA arranged an online Nikki Noo Noo party on Sunday July 12th. We had 62 members join the Facebook Group, ranging from Reception to Year 6. The hour-long event was filled with music, dancing and the general craziness that we come to expect from Nikki Noo Noo! Although this was not the event we had planned, everyone who watched the live event thoroughly enjoyed themselves and we cannot wait to start planning next year’s summer fayre.

April 2020 – Easter Egg Donation: Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 crisis we were unable to hold our annual Easter egg competition or the Easter quiz. We had already purchased the Easter eggs for the events and, after discussions with the school, we decided to donate them to County Durham Foodbank, to support local families during these difficult times.

February 2020 – Film Night: We hosted another highly successful film night!  The children enjoyed picnic bags and drinks while watching the popular animation ‘Despicable Me 3’.  They munched their way through snacks and sweeties while laughing at the antics of Gru and his Minions!

December 2019 – Christmas Parties: The PTA ordered and funded the children’s party food. Staff and children enjoyed partying to some fabulous festive songs and played some fun games!

November 2019 Winter Fayre: The Winter Fayre was a huge hit with everyone, again this year. The fayre had some brilliant Christmas stalls which included crafts, cakes and, of course, the renowned tombola.  We raised a fantastic £820.36.

November 2019 – Film Night: The first film night of the year was such a great success! The children enjoyed the hysterical animation ‘Madagascar 3’ with hotdogs, drinks and Haribo’s going down very well.

October 2019 – Halloween Disco: Our school hall was once again transformed into a Halloween spectacular on October 21st. The children and staff had a wonderfully frightening time dancing to spooky songs and playing games with the DJ. There were some screamtastic fancy-dress outfits!

September 2019 – Bingo Night: We had a wonderful time at our first event of the new school year.  Our fabulous PTA Chair, Laura Masterman, was the bingo caller providing the numbers and there were some great prizes for the winners!

July 2019 – Summer Fayre: On the 6th July we held our annual summer fayre, the weather was kind and we had glorious sunshine all day.  There were lots of splendid stalls and Nikki Noo Noo entertained us all with her engaging show. We also enjoyed a visit from Diggerland, the 5th Durham Scouts, the Community Support Team provided information to visitors and we had special guest appearances by Jet and Ben. We all had a superb fun filled afternoon and raised a whopping £1335.31, which will be donated to Langley Moor Primary School to contribute towards new playground equipment and the garden project.

Donations to the school

September 2019 – New bikes and trikes are to be purchased: The PTA donated £1000 to the school to purchase new bike and trikes.

September 2019 – Contribution towards the new garden project: The PTA donated £400 towards the new garden project.

January 2019 – Contribution to the School Council to buy new equipment for the new trolley in the KS2 yard: The PTA donated £238.92 after the School Council wrote a letter to us requesting support for the new equipment.  The children were thrilled with the exciting new items!

April 2018 – Contribution to the new play equipment in the KS2 yard:  Thanks to all the money you helped us raise in the previous school year we were able to donate £2000 towards the new play equipment.

Without your support during PTA Events, our children would not get these additional activities and pieces of equipment which make their lives at school just that little bit more memorable!!
